Record High Ramping Rates in HTS Based Superconducting Accelerator Magnet

We report results of experimental test the High Temperature Superconductor (HTS) based fast-cycling prototype accelerator magnet capable to operate up about 300 T/s field ramping rate with some 0.5 T B-field in gap. The measured upper limit for cryogenic cooling power required support conductor operation at high rates indicates great potential such type magnets rapid cycling synchrotrons neutrino research or acceleration very short-lived muons. design, construction and supporting systems are briefly described. magnet's discussed terms a possible upgrade this design 2 B-field, maximum feasible super-ferric magnet.
