Queuing models with Mittag-Leffler inter-event times

چکیده
Abstract We study three non-equivalent queueing models in continuous time that each generalise the classical M/M/1 queue a different way. Inter-event times all are Mittag-Leffler distributed, which is heavy tail distribution with no moments. For of we answer question being at zero infinitely often (the ‘recurrence’ regime) or not transient regime). Aside from this question, analytical properties allow us to number questions such as existence and description equilibrium distributions, mixing times, asymptotic behaviour return probabilities moments functional limit theorems.

متن کاملOn the Mittag-Leffler Property
Let C be a category with strong monomorphic strong coimages, that is, every morphism ƒ of C factors as ƒ = u ° g so that g is a strong epimorphism and u is a strong monomorphism and this factorization is universal. We define the notion of strong Mittag-Leffler property in pro-C. We show that if ƒ : X → Y is a level morphism in pro-C such that ( ) p Y ! " is a strong epimorphism for all β > α, t...
متن کاملThe Mittag-Leffler Phillips Curve
In this paper, a mathematical model containing two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function in its definition is proposed to be used for the first time to fit the relation between unemployment rate and inflation rate, also known as the Phillips curve. The Phillips curve is in the literature often represented by an exponential-like shape. On the other hand, Phillips in his fundamental paper used a powe...
متن کاملThe Asymptotics of the Mittag–leffler Polynomials
We investigate the asymptotic behaviour of the Mittag-Leffler polynomials Gn(z) for large n and z , where z is a complex variable satisfying 0 arg z 2 π . A summary of the asymptotic properties of Gn(ix) for real values of x and an approximation for its extreme zeros as n→∞ are given. When the variables are such that z/n is finite, an expansion is obtained using the method of steepest descents ...
