Abstract Predicting how long time a corrugated board box can be stored with constant load stacked on top of it without failing is an everyday challenge for designer. This basic step in material design which usually resolved by utilizing so‐called stacking factors. A factor the ratio between compression strength and load. Higher factors are used to accommodate longer storing times or high relative humidity conditions. Utilizing way commonly done today good first approximation. However, this method often neglects overcompensates inherent non‐normal distribution statistical behaviour associated lifetimes. higher precision predicting lifetimes enables optimization and, thus, more efficient use resources. work presents convenient both containerboards boxes. The approach additionally introduces concept reliability into lifetime prediction. prediction made directly from structural parameters applied accomplished relating two different parameter sets Weibull distribution.
