Postural balance in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

ABSTRACT Purpose: to characterize the performance of children with autism spectrum disorders in two postural balance assessment scales. Methods: an observational cross-sectional study a descriptive, analytical profile. Seven 11-year-old mild disorder, diagnosed by interdisciplinary team, according DSM-5, were assessed. The protocols used Sensory Organization Test and Pediatric Balance Scale. Results: all obtained maximum Test. As for Scale, participants had similar responses 8 out its 14 items; other 6, there was standard deviation. Conclusion: did not have difficulties performing Scale Test, scoring quite close value.
