Abstract We provide a meromorphic continuation for Poincaré series counting orthogeodesics of negatively curved surface with totally geodesic boundary, as well arcs linking two points. For the latter series, we show that value at zero coincides inverse Euler characteristic surface.

The MAPLE package for calculating Poincaré series
Abstract. We offer a Maple package Poincare_Series for calculating the Poincaré series for the algebras of invariants/covariants of binary forms, for the algebras of joint invariants/covariants of several binary forms, for the kernel of Weitzenböck derivations, for the bivariate Poincaré series of algebra of covariants of binary d-form and for the multivariate Poincaré series of the algebras of ...
متن کاملTight Surfaces with Boundary
In Differential Geometry an immersed smooth surface in 3-space is called tight if it has the minimum total absolute curvature among all immersed surfaces with the same topology. Tight surfaces without boundary were extensively studied, and tight surfaces with at least two boundary components are known to exist. An announcement of J.H.White in 1974 [19] stated that there are no smooth tight orie...
متن کاملC-robust Transitivity for Surfaces with Boundary
We prove that C-robustly transitive diffeomorphisms on surfaces with boundary do not exist, and we exhibit a class of diffeomorphisms of surfaces with boundary which are C−robustly transitive, with k ≥ 2. This class of diffeomorphisms are examples where a version of Palis’ conjecture on surfaces with boundary, about homoclinic tangencies and uniform hyperbolicity, does not hold in the C−topolog...
متن کاملConservative subgroup separability for surfaces with boundary
This theorem, for F orientable and without (iii), is due to Masters and Zhang [5] and is a key ingredient in their proof that cusped hyperbolic 3–manifolds contain quasi-Fuchsian surface groups [4; 5]. Without (iii) and (iv) the theorem is a special case of well-known theorems on subgroup separability of free groups (see Hall, Jr [1]) and surface groups (see Scott [6; 7]). For a discussion of s...
متن کاملOn the Zeros of Certain Poincaré Series
We locate all of the zeros of certain Poincaré series associated with the Fricke groups Γ0(2) and Γ ∗ 0(3) in their fundamental domains by applying and extending the method of F. K. C. Rankin and H. P. F. Swinnerton-Dyer (“On the zeros of Eisenstein series”, 1970).
