PO-04-192 RISK FACTORS AND OUTCOMES OF ELECTRICAL STORM AFTER LEFT VENTRICULAR ASSIST DEVICE IMPLANTATION

نویسندگان

چکیده

Electrical storm after Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) is a recognized complication. The risk factors associated with electrical storm, impact on survival less studied. aim of this study to the incidence, LVAD implantation and in patients undergoing LVAD. We performed retrospective cohort all who underwent from January 1, 2001, December 31, 2020, at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Phoenix, Jacksonville). incidence outcomes (≥3 sustained [>30 seconds] ventricular arrhythmia episodes over 24-hour period) were identified. Among 886 implantation, occurred 61 (7%) median 13 days (interquartile range [IQR] 4.5- 302) post implantation. Thirty-five (57.3%) developed within 30 days, while 26 (42.6%) ES 689 (IQR 228-1171) Pre history arrhythmias (43% vs 25%, p-value=0.002) implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) shock (34% 22%, p-value=0.024) significantly 1-year mortality rate first occurrence was 38%. Following 7% majority occurring 30-days Risk for included pre-implant ICD shock.

Risk factors predictive of right ventricular failure after left ventricular assist device implantation.

Right ventricular failure (RVF) after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation appears to be associated with increased mortality. However, the determination of which patients are at greater risk of developing postoperative RVF remains controversial and relatively unknown. We sought to determine the preoperative risk factors for the development of RVF after LVAD implantation. The data ...

Ventricular arrhythmias after left ventricular assist device implantation.

BACKGROUND Left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) have been used as a bridge to cardiac transplantation and as destination therapy in patients with advanced heart failure. The period after LVAD support is associated with ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) despite ventricular unloading and such VAs can have a detrimental effect on survival. Despite the increasing use of LVAD, little is known regardi...

[Prosthetic aortic valve thrombosis after left ventricular assist device implantation].

Rev Esp Cardiol. 2005;58(7):863 863 A 54-year-old man had undergone aortic valve replacement with a valve graft according to the Bentall-Bono technique because of severe stenosis and aneurysm of the ascending aorta 14 years ago. He had been hospitalized several times over the past 2 years for congestive heart failure and progressive worsening of left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction, clinical...

Chronic LDH Elevation after Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation

A 61-year-old woman who underwent HeartMate II left ventricular assist device placement for non-ischemic cardiomyopathy developed elevated lactate dehydrogenase within two weeks after implantation. After eight months of observation and several hospital admissions during which there was no evidence of pump thrombosis, she presented with clinically manifest hemolysis. During pump exchange there w...

Comparison of left ventricular geometry after HeartMate II and HeartWare left ventricular assist device implantation

BACKGROUND HeartMate II (HM II) and HeartWare (HW) Left Ventricular Assist Devices have been successfully used in end-stage heart failure patients as a bridge to transplantation, recovery, or decision. We set out to compare their effect in off-loading the left ventricle and its geometry. METHODS The left ventricular end diastolic (LVEDD) and end systolic (LVESD) diameters were compared betwee...
