چکیده

A coal chemical looping combustion (CLC) power plant (600 MW) with CO 2 capture was established and validated. The key operation parameters conditions for the process were tested optimized. Heat exchange network (HEN) optimized using combined pinch exergy analysis method matching integrating different levels or grade energy, from flue gas exhaust steam waste heat, in to maximize energy efficiency output. Followed by conducting a techno-economic evaluation distribution which showed that net of CLC (34.8 %, improved 1.9 %) is 2.4 % higher than monoethanolamine (MEA)-based ultra-supercritical (32.4 same ratio (90 %). also provides lower cost electricity (0.088–0.127 $/kWh) less consumption (381 g/kWh), compared MEA-based (0.143 $/kWh, 408 g/kWh). penalty enrichment separation are when traditional plants due intrinsic nature in-suit capture, destruction process, sufficient integration recovery HEN. • HEN CCS CPEA method. Net improves %. Coal emission reduce 6.9 7.2 COE MEA-power $/kWh).

Exergy Analysis of a Syngas-Fueled Combined Cycle with Chemical-Looping Combustion and CO2 Sequestration

Fossil fuels are still widely used for power generation. Nevertheless, it is possible to attain a shortand medium-term substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere through a sequestration of the CO2 produced in fuels’ oxidation. The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) technique is based on a chemical intermediate agent, which gets oxidized in an air reactor and is then cond...

Energy and exergy analysis of chemical looping combustion technology and comparison with pre-combustion and oxy-fuel combustion technologies for CO2 capture

Carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted from conventional coal-based power plants is a growing concern for the environment. Chemical looping combustion (CLC), pre-combustion and oxy-fuel combustion are promising CO2 capture technologies which allow clean electricity generation from coal in an integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant. This work compares the characteristics of the above thr...

Coal gasification integration with solid oxide fuel cell and chemical looping combustion for high-efficiency power generation with inherent CO2 capture

Since solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) produce electricity with high energy conversion efficiency, and chemical looping combustion (CLC) is a process for fuel conversion with inherent CO2 separation, a novel combined cycle integrating coal gasification, solid oxide fuel cell, and chemical looping combustion was configured and analyzed. A thermodynamic analysis based on energy and exergy was perfor...

Systems Analysis of Ionic Liquids for Post-combustion CO2 Capture at Coal-fired Power Plants

The main objective of this study is to investigate the feasibility and costs of ionic liquid (IL)-based CO2 capture systems at pulverized coal-fired (PC) power plants. The IL selected for this assessment is trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium 2-cyanopyrrolide ([P66614][2-CNpyr]), achieving a 1:1 and reversible chemical reaction between [2-CNpyr] and CO2. A multi-stage equilibrium-based modeling fra...
