Phonetic Features of the Belarusian New Testament Translations (Orthodox and Catholic Editions)

The paper presents a comparative analysis of phonetic features, mainly concerning proper names in the Catholic and Orthodox editions Gospel Books translated into Belarusian. basis study is also formed by biblical text sources Greek, Latin, Church Slavonic, Polish, Russian. Furthermore, translation, explanatory other dictionaries, as well works on historical phonetics Belarusian language modern literary are used. article emphasizes how, under influence individual linguistic traditions, ancient Greek sounds their combinations reflected different ways texts. It apparent that translators Gospels exhibit certain dependence foreign-language influences, primarily Polish Russian Slavonic confessional traditions pronunciation writing; thus, often fail to use dictionary versions titles not fully acknowledging articulatory processes characteristic language.
