Performance Improvement of Grid-Integrated Doubly Fed Induction Generator under Asymmetrical and Symmetrical Faults

چکیده
The doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy conversion system (WECS) suffers from voltage and frequency fluctuations due to the stochastic nature of speed as well nonlinear loads. Moreover, high penetration into power grid is a challenge for its smooth operation. Hence, symmetrical faults are most intense, inflicting stator winding low voltage, disturbing low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) functionality DFIG. vector control strategy with proportional–integral (PI) controllers was used rotor-side converter (RSC) grid-side (GSC) parameters. During fault, however, series (SGSC) shunt injection transformer on side keep rotor current at an acceptable level in accordance code requirements (GCRs). For validation results, proposed scheme PI + SGSC compared combination Dynamic Impedance Fault Current Limiter (DIFCL). MATLAB simulation results demonstrate that provides superior performance by providing 77.6% 20.61% improved DIFCL schemes improving LVRT
