چکیده

The sleep loss (SL) are one of the important diseases that endanger health aging individuals. This study evaluated SL in individuals, and explored relationship between age organic changes affect brain sleep. causes individuals its harmful effects on them have been outlined. To enable choosing a suitable way to better, we also reviewed advantages disadvantages existing modulation based lifestyle habits drug physical stimulation. We found former as more for patients with mild SL, while latter may fail achieve desired even lead onset new diseases. Therefore, it is proposed use non-invasive electrical magnetic stimulations improve quality patients. In this review, mechanisms two stimulation methods summarized. Through analysis, was can induce neuronal action potential, which makes twitch, equipment noise discomfort elderly during treatment. Comparative analysis revealed transcranial (tES) considerably safe, convenient, non-invasive, easy operate method few adverse reactions, be considered potential therapeutic patients.

The link between sleep and aging is a hot topic of research. On the one hand, much attention has been paid to epidemiological studies showing that both short sleep and long sleep in humans are associated with reduced longevity. I will briefly review this literature and discuss recent experiments in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster that may contribute to understanding this complicated assoc...

Sleep and brain energy levels: ATP changes during sleep.

Sleep is one of the most pervasive biological phenomena, but one whose function remains elusive. Although many theories of function, indirect evidence, and even common sense suggest sleep is needed for an increase in brain energy, brain energy levels have not been directly measured with modern technology. We here report that ATP levels, the energy currency of brain cells, show a surge in the in...

The Characteristics of Sleep and Sleep Loss in Adolescence: A Review

Healthy, adequate sleep is integral to the process of growth and development during adolescence. At puberty, maturational changes in the underlying homeostatic and circadian sleep regulatory mechanisms influence the sleep-wake patterns of adolescents. These changes interact with psychosocial factors, such as increasing academic demands, hours spent in paid employment, electronic media use, and ...

Brain structural changes in obstructive sleep apnea.

STUDY OBJECTIVES Determine whether obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) subjects show indications of axonal injury. DESIGN We assessed fiber integrity in OSA and control subjects with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). We acquired four whole-brain DTI series from each subject. The four series were realigned, and the diffusion tensor calculated at each voxel. Fractional anisotropy (FA), a measure of fib...
