Net portal appearance of proteinogenic amino acids in Iberian pigs fed betaine and conjugated linoleic acid supplemented diets

چکیده

Betaine and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may improve pig performance increase lean mass, but the mechanisms are not well understood. Gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, spleen mesenteric fat comprise portal-drained viscera (PDV). Nutrient energy availability of productive tissues be compromised by PDV because its anatomical situation elevated oxygen consumption. The objective this study was to determine if use betaine, CLA, or both in diet affects net portal appearance (NPA) proteinogenic amino acids (AA; essential non-essential AA) Iberian pigs. Sixteen growing barrows (19 kg body weight (BW)) were randomly assigned one four experimental treatments (4 pigs/treatment): basal (control; barley soybean meal-based (145 g crude protein (CP)/kg dry matter (DM) 14.7 MJ metabolizable (ME)/kg DM)) supplemented with 5 g/kg 10 betaine +10 CLA. Three catheters placed each pig: carotid artery vein for blood sampling, ileal para-aminohippuric (PAH) infusion measure plasma flow (PPF). Blood samples taken into heparinized tubes simultaneously from at 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3 6 h after feeding 1200 diet. centrifuged, haematocrit determined, stored until PAH AA analyses. PPF tended greater (15.0%, P=0.095) control compared other three diets. Supplementation increased NPA (59%, P<0.001), (79%, P<0.001) pigs and, therefore, peripheral tissues; however, supplementation CLA decreased (122%, most AA.

Dietary starch sources affect net portal appearance of amino acids and glucose in growing pigs.

Four male pigs (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire; average initial (mean ± SEM) BW = 22.5 ± 1.1 kg), fitted with permanent catheters in the portal vein, ileal vein and carotid artery, were used in a 4 × 4 Latin square experimental design to measure the effect of dietary starch sources on the net portal appearance of glucose and amino acids. Dietary starch sources were resistant starch (RS), maize, s...

Ileal amino acid digestibility and performance of growing pigs fed wheat-based diets supplemented with xylanase.

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of supplementation of xylanase to a wheat-based diet on the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of AA and the performance of growing pigs fed diets limiting in AA. In Exp. 1, eight pigs (average initial BW = 20.5+/-1.2 kg) fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum, were fed four diets according to a repeated 4 x 4 Latin square desig...

Net Energy for Growth in Pigs : Application to Low-protein, Amino Acid Supplemented Diets

The cost of feed is at least 50% of the total cost of pig meat production with the energy component representing the greatest proportion. Therefore, from a practical point of view, it is important to estimate precisely the energy value of feeds, either for least-cost formulation purposes or for adapting feed supply to energy requirements of animals. Evaluation of energy content of pig feeds is ...
