چکیده

Abstract Protein glycation, a post-translational modification found in biological systems, is often associated with core defect glucose metabolism. In particular, advanced glycation endproducts are complex heterogeneous sugar-derived protein modifications implicated the progression of pathological conditions such as atherosclerosis, diabetic complications, skin diseases, rheumatism, hypertension, and neurodegenerative diseases. Undoubtedly, there need to expand knowledge about antiglycation agents that can offer therapeutic approach preventing treating health issues high social economic importance. Although various compounds have been under consideration, little data from clinical trials available, lack approved registered agents. Next search for novel synthetic endproduct inhibitors, more efforts scientists focusing on researching natural origin. The main purpose this review provide thorough overview state scientific field products plant origin (e.g., extracts pure compounds) inhibitors formation period between 1990 2019. Moreover, objectives summary also include basic chemistry AGEs classification, pathophysiological significance AGEs, mechanisms inhibiting formation, examples several anti-AGEs drugs.

Novel inhibitors of advanced glycation endproducts.

Enhanced formation and accumulation of advanced glycation endproducts (AGE's) have been proposed to play a major role in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications, aging, atherosclerosis, and Alzheimer disease leading to progressive and irreversible intermolecular protein crosslinkings. This process is accelerated in diabetes and has been postulated to contribute to the development of a range ...

Inhibitory actions of selected natural substances on formation of advanced glycation endproducts and advanced oxidation protein products

BACKGROUND Advanced glycation endproducts (AGE) and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) arise as a result of excessive glycation and oxidation processes of proteins in hyperglycemia and oxidative stress conditions respectively, both in vivo and in vitro. In vivo these processes are especially intensified in patients with diabetes, and the adverse effects of AGE and AOPP are particularly ...

Endogenous secretory receptor for advanced glycation endproducts as a novel prognostic marker in chondrosarcoma.

BACKGROUND Chondrosarcoma, the second most frequent primary malignant bone tumor, is classified into 3 grades according to histologic criteria of malignancy. However, a low-grade lesion can be difficult to distinguish from a benign enchondroma, whereas some histologically low-grade lesions may carry a poor prognosis. The receptor for advanced glycation endproducts (RAGE) and its ligand, high-mo...
