Nanoparticle‐Based Strain Gauges: Anisotropic Response Characteristics, Multidirectional Strain Sensing, and Novel Approaches to Healthcare Applications

Abstract Directional strain sensing is essential for advanced sensor applications in the field of human‐machine interfaces and healthcare. Here, angle dependent anisotropic sensitivity caused by charge carriers percolating through cross‐linked gold nanoparticle (GNP) networks studied these versatile materials are used fabrication wearable triaxial pulse gesture sensors. More specifically, response 1,9‐nonanedithiol GNP films separated into geometric piezoresistive contributions fitting measured data with an analytic model. Hereby, coefficients g 11 ∼ 32 12 21 extracted, indicating a slightly behavior GNP‐based material. To use material healthcare applications, arrangements three transducers patterned lithographically fully embedded highly flexible silicone polymer (Dragon Skin 30). The new encapsulation method ensures good robust electrical contacts enables facile handling protection from external influences.
