Multi-Variable Perturb and Observe Algorithm for Grid-Tied PV Systems With Joint Central and Distributed MPPT Configuration

This article proposes a new control algorithm that improves the dynamic performance in distributed maximum power point tracking systems. Systems with these architectures allow to increase photovoltaic harvested case of partial shading and irradiance mismatch. The classical approach adopts DC/DC electronics without any centralized action, which makes difficult know whether system is working on its optimal operating or not. presented this paper exploits benefits vectorial multi-variable perturb & observe logic acts sequence under varying conditions, reducing voltage stresses at converters output terminals. In addition, matching DC-bus discussed, providing overall system, fact barely addressed literature. Simulation results experimental measurements validate proposed showing improved stability.
