Morphodynamic Equilibria in Short Tidal Basins Using a 2DH Exploratory Model

چکیده

A depth-averaged (2DH) exploratory model is developed to identify morphodynamic equilibria in short mesotidal inlet systems with arbitrary planform geometries. The water motion forced by an M 2 tidal constituent at the seaward entrance and described shallow equations, whereas depth-integrated suspended sediment concentration follows from a diffusion equation, taking into account local inertia, horizontal eddy topographically induced diffusive effects, erosion, deposition. Based on scaling analysis, it that fine sandy bed evolution dominated transport. advective contributions are one order smaller therefore neglected. This observation also allows for neglect of terms governing equations. associated directly identified based continuation approach. By means model, studied basins geometry characterized width variations as function distance boundary. results show case sufficient degree widening landward direction, equilibrium level exhibits significant lateral structures, zones deeper channels. first channel bifurcation, observed many systems, basin, physical mechanisms explained. Furthermore, two inducing asymmetric investigated, which effect basin seems be dominant over Coriolis force.
