چکیده

Knowledge on the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is limited. MMPs are capable degrading almost all extracellular and pericellular components to promote invasion metastasis. This study aimed evaluate immunohistochemical expression MMP-7, -8, -9, -15, -25 ACC relate results with clinicopathological factors survival. The included 68 patients minor salivary gland treated at Helsinki University Hospital (Helsinki, Finland) 1974–2012. Samples from 52 were available, consisting 44 primary tumours eight recurrent tumours. We scored immunostaining analysed immunoscore against clinical pathological parameters using statistical correlation test. MMP-9 immunoexpression pseudocysts peritumoural inflammatory cells associated better survival fewer treatment failures. High tumoural MMP-7 MMP-15 poorer high advanced stage regional recurrences. Tumour did not show MMP-8 immunopositivity. These suggest that may contribute carcinogenesis different roles. -9 can stimulate signalling pathways tissue modulation metastatic potential. reflect prognosis.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary gland.

We describe 15 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary glands treated by radiotherapy from 1960 to 1978. All patients were treated for localized disease either definitively or after surgical resection. The site of origin and local tumor extensions are reviewed and the results of treatment analyzed. Eighty-three percent of the tumors were controlled by combined treatment (surgery ...

Salivary Gland Like Breast Carcinoma/Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: Case Report.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the breast constitutes approximately 0.1% of all breast tumors. They can be located in the trachea, bronchus, cervix, lacrimal gland, and skin as well as the breast. Tumors in the breast have better prognoses compared to those in other locations. The diagnosis and treatment planning of this tumor is challenging due to its rare incidence. In this article, we presented...

Response to oxaliplatin with cetuximab in minor salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma.

Esophageal localization of adenoid cystic carcinoma of minor salivary glands is rare; it may occur in the early to mid-sixties' age group and is more frequently encountered in men than women. In the majority of cases, it arises from subepithelial glands of the middle to lower third of the esophagus, a similar distribution as squamous cell carcinoma. Prognosis depends mostly on tumor staging and...

Adenoid cystic carcinoma of minor salivary glands: A Diagnostic Challenge

Adenoid cystic carcinoma most often presents a diagnostic and treatment challenge owing to the rarity of occurrence. Most findings reported in literature about adenoid cystic carcinoma are actually based upon studies of small number of patients and there is a dire need for further studies regarding its clinical behavior, treatment modalities and prognosis.

Correction: Whole-Genome Sequencing of Salivary Gland Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

Adenoid cystic carcinomas (ACC) of the salivary glands are challenging to understand, treat, and cure. To better understand the genetic alterations underlying the pathogenesis of these tumors, we performed comprehensive genome analyses of 25 fresh-frozen tumors, including whole-genome sequencing and expression and pathway analyses. In addition to the well-described MYB-NFIB fusion that was foun...
