Maize and Wheat Responses to the Legacies of Different Cover Crops under Warm Conditions

چکیده
Cover crops (CC) have great potential to enhance the sustainability of agroecosystems. However, wide range possible rotations CC and cash (CaC) means that important knowledge gaps persist on how affects CaC. We investigated legacy effects five common (three monocultures: vetch, melilotus, barley, two mixtures: barley-vetch barley-melilotus) most CaC, maize wheat. A microcosm, semi-controlled experiment was established simulating warm, low-income Mediterranean conditions. After cycles, soil physicochemical microbial properties, as well plant growth nutrition variables, were measured at early CaC stage. In maize, barley had best nutritional effects, which resulted in highest biomass nutrient status. contrast, produced worst results wheat, showing disadvantages growing from same tribe consecutively. mixtures also did not offer a productive advantage over pure CC. Additionally, our findings suggest archaea seem play role increasing N Zn content shoots. Furthermore, shoot B contents showed highly significant regressions with biomass. These can help select appropriate each case.

This research was carried out to study the grain yield, yield components and NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) responses of four wheat cultivars to growth retardant cycocel under terminal drought stress conditions. The experiment was laid out as a split split plot with three replicates at the experimental farm of the School of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran in 2016-201...

In order to investigate the responses of potato plantlets under in vitro conditions to osmotic and temperature stresses, a factorial experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with three replications. Each replicate contained a glass jar with 5 explants grown in it. The first...
متن کاملGrowth and development responses to UV-B exclusion in crops
UV-B radiation affects crop plants. Growing interest has been shown in studying the effectsof UV-B radiation exclusion on crops since 1993. This article summarized the generalconsequences of UV-B radiation exclusion on crop plants from the aspacts of plant morphology, growth and development. UV-B exlusion has promoting effects on plant height, internodeand leaf size. UV-B exclusion increases roo...
متن کاملScreening of Greek wheat landraces for their yield responses under arid conditions
The present study was a part of a long time screening experiment that includeda high number of wheat landraces (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivated in Greece, andfocused on the agronomic point of view and the drought adaptation for some ofthese landraces. One of the most acceptable ways for the assessment of droughtresistance is the examination of yield and yield components in different waterregim...
