چکیده
Phosphine is considered as an effective substitute to methyl bromide (MB), ozone depleting fumigant which was phased out honouring ‘Montreal Protocol’. Limited field studies are available on phosphine toxicity against storage insects of pulses under different climatic conditions in India. In the present study efficacy investigated laboratory cultured and populations Callosobruchus maculatus by organising fumigation trials 5 MT pulse stacks, each triplicate, varied conditions. The were conducted at three locations, Jaipur for Cicer arietinum (chickpea), Cuttack Vigna radiata (green gram) Mumbai Lathyrus aphaca (yellow pea) using conventional 56% Aluminium phosphide (AlP) tablets (2 tab/MT 3 tab/MT) application; gas derived from on-site generator with 77.5% granular (1.0 g 1.5 phosphine/m3) formulations two exposure periods (7 10-days) dosage including untreated control. concentration monitored daily until monitoring equipment. No emergence adults observed 60 days after treatment indicating 100% insect mortality both (laboratory field) all dosages. minimum controlling C. 300–500 ppm 7-days phosphine/m3 depending A significant variation during locations. Average concentration-time (Ct) product green gram higher than that chickpea yellowpea. loss found be significantly low yellowpea treated moderately hot humid climate.

Insecticidal Activity and Chemical Composition of the Morinda lucida Essential Oil against Pulse Beetle Callosobruchus maculatus
Insecticidal activity of essential oil extracted from Morinda lucida was tested on pulse beetle Callosobruchus maculatus, which is a pest that causes serious damage to several pulses. The insecticidal activity was compared with two pesticides, Phostoxin and Primo-ban-20. 120 mixed sex adult C. maculatus were introduced, along with 30 g of cowpeas. Four concentrations (0.40, 0.20, 0.10, and 0.05...

The experiment was conducted to find out the efficacy of dodder vine extract as seed protectant against pulse beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis on gram seed in the laboratory of the Department of Entomology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during the period of February to May, 2009. The concentrations of dodder vine extract were 5, 2 and 1% respectively. Efficacies of these treatm...
متن کاملEffect of solvent residues of Vitex negundo Linn. and Cassia fistula Linn. on pulse beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus Fab. and its larval parasitoid, Dinarmus vagabundus (Timberlake).
Effect of solvent residues of Vitex negundo L. and Cassia fistula L. leaves (0.5 and 1%) was studied on egg laying and adult emergence of Callosobruchus maculatus Fab. and on percentage of larval parasitism by Dinarmus vagabundus (Timberlake). Cowpea seeds treated with methanol and aqueous extract of Vitex, at these concentrations (0.5 and 1%), significantly reduced the number of eggs and emerg...
متن کاملPerformance of Uscana mukerjii (Mani) for the control of Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) and allied bruchid species.
Investigations have been carried out on the relative preference of U. mukerjii to four common species viz., C. maculatus, C. analis, C. chinensis and Zabrotes subfasciatus of store bruchids. Results show correspondence between the acceptance/contact ratio and the total number of eggs laid by the parasitoid for Callosobruchus species. U. mukerjii shows maximum preference on C. maculatus followed...
