چکیده

We present an extended X-ray absorption fine structure study at the Mo K-edge of A2(Mo1−yMny)2O7 (A = Gd, Ho; y 0.05 and 0.10) pyrochlores, as a function temperature composition, coupled to diffractometric magnetic characterizations. Extending reported in our previous paper on pristine A2Mo2O7 compounds these Mo/Mn partially substituted samples, where we hypothesize competition between double-exchange superexchange couplings, aim check which parameters are related nature nearest-neighbor interactions, looking for presence evolution order anomalies. Two Ho samples Ho2(Mo1−yMny)2O7 (y keep spin-glass parent compositions with strong distortion MoO(1)6 octahedron Mo‒Ho Mo‒Mo second shell. On other hand, two Gd2(Mo1−yMny)2O7 ferromagnetic low undoped case, show appearance local scale transition mirrored by quite high disorder coherent lattice frustration after Mn-doping. Therefore, Gd Mn-doped display similar frustrated behavior, differently from corresponding ones.

Static magnetic susceptibility, crystal field and exchange interactions in rare earth titanate pyrochlores.

The experimental temperature dependence (T = 2-300 K) of single crystal bulk and site susceptibilities of rare earth titanate pyrochlores R(2)Ti(2)O(7) (R = Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb) is analyzed in the framework of crystal field theory and a mean field approximation. Analytical expressions for the site and bulk susceptibilities of the pyrochlore lattice are derived taking into account lon...

EXCHANGE INTERACTIONS AND MAGNETIC ANISOTROPY IN THE “Ni4” MAGNETIC MOLECULE

Magnetic properties of a tetrahedral “Ni4” molecule are discussed in terms of the Heisenberg model, with magnetic anisotropy terms included, and on the basis of first-principle calculations within the density functional theory. It is shown that the isotropic Heisenberg model does not provide an adequate description of magnetization at low temperatures; an inclusion of single-site anisotropy ter...

Order-disorder and magnetic exchange interactions in substituted strontium hexaferrite SrAxFe12-xO19(A=Ga, In)

The unusual magnetic behavior of the 1% site in SrGa,Fe12-,Olg (8.3Cu<6.0) and SrInXFc,,_,XO,, (0.3~~~1.4) has been investigated by means of 57Fe Miissbauer spectroscopy at 298 IL The bifurcation of the 12.k MGssbauer subspectrum into 12k, and 12k2 components vf widely differing intensities has been confirmed for both Ga”+ and 18. The bifurcation is apparent at s values as low as 0.3, and the l...

A comparison of the local magnetic susceptibility in rare earth pyrochlores

We report transverse field muon spin rotation studies of the rare earth pyrochlores Gd2Ti2O7 and Tb2Ti2O7: The paramagnetic shift in the observed precession frequency depends on the local spin susceptibility and probes the contact hyperfine and dipolar fields at the muon site within these materials. The results are compared with measurements of the bulk susceptibility. While no features associa...

SERIOUS ARRHYTHMIA INDUCED BY TERFENADINE-ERYTHROMYCIN INTERACTIONS

Since the introduction of our local manufacturing of terfenadine, we have observed and expressed our concern about a small but increasing number of serious ventricular arrhythmias associated with the use of this non sedating antihistamine. In January 1997 a case of torsade de pointes ventricular tachycardia was detected in a previously healthy woman taking terfenadine with erythromycin. El...
