چکیده

Accidental explosions are a plausible danger to the chemical process industries. In event of gas explosion, any obstacles placed within path flame generate turbulence, which accelerates transient and raises explosion overpressure, posing safety hazard. This paper presents numerical studies using an in-house computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for lean premixed hydrogen/air propagations with equivalence ratio 0.7. A laboratory-scale combustion chamber is used repeated solid obstacles. The compressible large eddy simulation (LES) modelling technique combined dynamic surface density (DFSD) carry out simulations in three-dimensional space. study presented uses eight different baffle configurations two obstructions, have area blockage ratios 0.24 0.5. speed, maximum rate pressure-rise as well peak overpressure magnitude timing discussed. Numerical results validated against available published experimental data. It concluded that, increasing obstacle number consecutive baffles raised pressure rise, higher faster propagation. Future development would require more data, probably congested configuration. • Characteristics hydrogen multiple configurations. Increased effects on flames. Hydrogen interaction Effects separation distance overpressure.
