Investigation of temporal baseline effect on DEMs derived from COSMO Sky-Med data

Digital elevation models (DEM) are indispensable elements of sensitive earth science studies. It is important the production and usage DEMs. The remote sensing offers scientists an source data on this subject. Radar data, which active system, has capacity in regard. DEM using InSAR been widely used literature last decade. temporal baseline parameter, factor generation from pairs, also affects final products. In study, it aimed to examine usability these by producing short (4days), medium (84 days) long (440 DEMs pairs COSMO Sky-Med satellite. At same time, photogrammetric were produced with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) selected pilot areas. evaluated 4 land surface types, namely plain-bare, agricultural, urban rugged area. addition, performing statistical analyzes such as RMSE, MAE, accuracy compared UAV was examined. results showed that give more accurate than pairs. Increasing baseline, increases amount error produced. Also, effect types revealed study.
