Integrating Data Donations in Online Surveys

Data donations represent a user-centered approach to data collection where researchers ask EU participants exercise their right of access (GDPR) vis-à-vis intermediaries and donate the digital trace they receive academic research. These are often combined with survey gain deeper insights into questions under investigation. Although initially promising, this process is complex for respondents involves serious methodological, ethical, legal challenges researchers. A series recently developed software solutions facilitate streamline donation studies. However, these stand-alone systems work separately from software.
