In-plane magnetic field induced density wave states near quantum spin Hall phase transitions

چکیده

We study the influence of an in-plane magnetic field and Coulomb interactions on physics quantum spin Hall insulators, like those in InAs/GaSb HgTe/CdTe wells. Using a Hartree-Fock mean-field theory approximation, we calculate phase diagrams as functions band gap, hybridization, strength. show that when hybridization is weak, system unstable against formation density-wave states. As strength increases, region diagram expands distinct states appear. discuss possible experimental implications our results.

Quantum Hall effect in three-dimensional field-induced spin-density-wave phases with a tilted magnetic field.

The quantum Hall effect in the three-dimensional anisotropic tight-binding electrons is investigated in the field-induced spin density wave phases with a magnetic field tilted to any direction. The Hall conductivity, σxy and σxz, are shown to be quantized as a function of the wave vector of FISDW, while σyz stays zero, where x is the most conducting direction and y and z are perpendicular to x....

Spin-orbital entanglement near quantum phase transitions

Spin-orbital entanglement in the ground state of a one-dimensional SU(2)⊗SU(2) spin-orbital model is analyzed using exact diagonalization of finite chains. For S = 1/2 spins and T = 1/2 pseudospins one finds that the quantum entanglement is similar at the SU(4) symmetry point and in the spin-orbital valence bond state. We also show that quantum transitions in spin-orbital models turn out to be ...

Pressure- and field-induced magnetic quantum phase transitions in TlCuCl3

Abstract TlCuCl3 is a quantum spin liquid of S = 1/2 Cu2+ dimers. Interdimer superexchange interactions give a three-dimensional magnon dispersion and a spin gap significantly smaller than the dimer coupling, which is closed by an applied hydrostatic pressure of approximately 2.5 kbar or by a magnetic field of 5.6 T, offering a unique opportunity to explore both the pressureand fieldinduced qua...

Magnetic-Field Induced Quantum Phase Transitions in Triangular-Lattice Antiferromagnets

Cs2CuBr4 and Ba3NiSb2O9 are magnetically described as quasi-two-dimensional triangular-lattice antiferromagnets with spin1 2 and 1, respectively. We show that both systems exhibit a magnetization plateau at one-third of the saturation magnetization Ms due to the interplay of spin frustration and quantum fluctuation. In Cs2CuBr4 that has a spatially anisotropic triangular lattice, successive mag...
