Green Synthesis of Nickle Oxide Nanoparticles for Adsorption of Dyes

The green synthesis of nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiO-NP) was investigated using Ni(NO3)2 as a precursor, olive tree leaves reducing agent, and D-sorbitol capping agent. structural, optical, morphology the synthesized NiO-NP have been characterized ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), X-ray crystallography (XRD) pattern, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. SEM analysis showed that spherical shape highly crystalline well agglomerated appear cluster with size range (30 to 65 nm). Scherrer relation has used estimate crystallite which found about 42 nm. NiO-NPs subsequently adsorbents for adsorption two types dyes; methylene blue (MB) cation dye methyl orange (MO) anion dye. removal efficiency dyes from contaminated water during various key parameters at room temperature; initial concentration (Co), pH, contact time (t), agitation speed, adsorbent dosage. maximum MB be 96% (Co=25 mg/l, pH=10, time=100 min, speed=300 rpm dosage=6 g/l), while MO reached 88% (Co=20 mg/L, pH=2, time=160 g/L). experimental data were obey Freundlich isotherm. kinetic investigation process both followed pseudo-second-order model rate constants 0.0109 0.0079 (mg/g min) MO, respectively.
