Grape and Grape-Based Product Polyphenols: A Systematic Review of Health Properties, Bioavailability, and Gut Microbiota Interactions

چکیده

Grapevine-derived products have been widely studied for their reported benefits, especially those related to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. However, in recent years, interest study grapes and non-fermented derivatives (grape juices) has gained prominence over well-known red wine, since grape juices seem be beneficial effects associated with Mediterranean diet, consequently presence phenolic compounds. The focus this systematic review was profiles grape, juice, as well possible consumption on human microbiota through a literature review. PubMed Scopus were accessed during April 2021 PRISMA methodological protocol followed. To best our knowledge, is first time that methodology applied knowledge. This allowed scientific description of: (a) comparison between derived source compounds, (b) great possibilities working new line investigation based synergy polyphenol microbiota, (c) urgent need strategies improve bioavailability these

Bioavailability of Dietary Polyphenols and Gut Microbiota Metabolism: Antimicrobial Properties

Polyphenolic compounds are plant nutraceuticals showing a huge structural diversity, including chlorogenic acids, hydrolyzable tannins, and flavonoids (flavonols, flavanones, flavan-3-ols, anthocyanidins, isoflavones, and flavones). Most of them occur as glycosylated derivatives in plants and foods. In order to become bioactive at human body, these polyphenols must undergo diverse intestinal tr...

Polyphenols and health: Interactions between fibre, plant polyphenols and the gut microbiota

A high-fibre diet and one rich in fruit and vegetables have long been associated with lower risk of chronic disease. There are several possible mechanisms underpinning these associations, but one likely important factor is the production of bioactive molecules from plant-based foods by the bacteria in the colon. This links to our growing understanding of the role of the gut microbiome in promot...

Interactions of black tea polyphenols with human gut microbiota: implications for gut and cardiovascular health.

Epidemiologic studies have convincingly associated consumption of black tea with reduced cardiovascular risk. Research on the bioactive molecules has traditionally been focused on polyphenols, such as catechins. Black tea polyphenols (BTPs), however, mainly consist of high-molecular-weight species that predominantly persist in the colon. There, they can undergo a wide range of bioconversions by...

Grape products and oral health.

Oral diseases, including dental caries, periodontal disease, and tooth loss, affect the majority of the population and can affect a person's overall health. Raisins contain polyphenols, flavonoids, and high levels of iron that may benefit human health. However, their oral health benefits are less well understood. We hypothesized that raisins contain antimicrobial phytochemicals capable of suppr...
