Genetic variation and association mapping in the F2 population of the Perilla crop (Perilla frutescens L.) using new developed Perilla SSR markers

The transcriptome sequencing approach RNA-seq represents a powerful tool for transcriptional analysis and development of simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers nonmodel crop. In the Perilla crop, distribution different motifs showed that most abundant type was dinucleotide repeats (62.0%), followed by trinucleotide (35.3%), with two together comprising 97.3% eSSR repeats. this study, we developed 39 new SSR primer sets RNA-sEq. total, 130 alleles were detected segregating in nine accessions an average 3.3 per locus, ranging from 125 to 360 bp. number locus ranged six. To detect associated morphological characteristics 40 individuals F2 population selected association based on their leaf- plant-related characteristics. An 37 9 traits conducted. From analysis, identified 12 leaf-related 11 traits. Therefore, primers described study could be helpful identifying genetic diversity mapping, designating important genes/QTLs crop breeding programs, allowing breeders improve leaf plant quality through marker-assisted selection (MAS) programs.
