چکیده

Stern wave flow phenomena are investigated in a full-scale Kriso container ship. The hull roughness effects studied with and without propulsion. Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) detached eddy simulations (DES) utilized the ghost-fluid method (GFM). DES is carried out submodel where stationary RANS solution used as boundary condition. surface effect on stern significant due to increased layer thickness. differences shape between become more pronounced propulsion resolves turbulence breaking. With smooth hull, indicates transom wetting which does not. For heavy fouling condition predict wetted transom. results indicate 6.8% higher pressure (2.8% total) resistance at compared corresponding RANS. of correlates velocity change location. Heavy not cause although We propose that should be taken into account after body design.
