Frequency-Tunable Slot-Loop Antenna Based on KNN Ferroelectric Interdigitated Varactors

A miniature frequency-tunable slot-loop antenna (0.128λ 0 × 0.077λ ) based on ferroelectric K xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0.5 Na NbO xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">3 (KNN) interdigitated varactors is investigated at Ku-band. KNN material has been selected among the oxide family because of its competitive properties for microwave applications. Its high permittivity value (ϵ xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">r ≈ 360 10 GHz) and wide frequency tunability under an external static electric field E xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">bias make it a promising candidate frequency-agile antennas circuits microwaves.
