Fast Fluid Dynamics Simulation of the Airflow Around a Single Bluff Body

Fast and accurate simulation of the outdoor airflow distribution is important for studying urban microclimate. In this paper, two pressure-correction schemes (i.e., NIPC NSPF) solving N-S equation item by are implemented in OpenFOAM their differences from PISO algorithm simulating around a single 1:1:2 bluff body analyzed. The RNG k-ε turbulence model chosen to study disturbance, while second-order discretization scheme Gauss limitedLinear used solve advection term equation. results show that can accurately predict main characteristics body, NSPF cannot recirculation region on its top. underestimate TKE top leeward sides when applying model, maximum relative error about 30%. However, they consistent with under same conditions. 2.5-3.0 times faster than PSIO run CPU, 12% scheme.
