Pigments from microalgae and cyanobacteria have attracted great interest for industrial applications due to their bioactive potential natural product attributes. These pigments are usually sold as extracts, overcome purification costs. The extraction of these compounds is based on cell disruption methodologies chemical solubility compounds.
