Evidence-Based Practice: beliefs, attitudes, knowledge and behaviours of Sri Lankan physiotherapists

Purpose: This study describes physiotherapists’ self-reported attitudes, beliefs, knowledge, and barriers to Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). Methodology: In a cross-sectional online survey, practising physiotherapists were invited fill Google form with Likert scales, which measured the required components. Descriptive chi-square tests performed analyse data. Results: The majority of 108 participants female (56.5%). Most (63%) belong age group 30-39 years. It was found that 90% had positive attitudes towards EBP. Although 89.8% learnt EBP during their academic programmes, complete awareness terminology poor. More (57.4%) revealed they received support use current research in practice, but 51% did not have access research. Insufficient time main barrier (26%) clinical settings. Implementing practice low (74 %) despite training programme. Conclusion: is noted there lack implementation even though attitude recommended ongoing national-level policies enhance physiotherapy Sri Lanka.
