چکیده

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance (specificity, Sp; sensitivity, Se; accuracy; positive predictive value; negative and Cohen's kappa coefficient, ?, of agreement) chromogenic culture media for rapid identification microorganisms isolated from cows with clinical (CM) subclinical mastitis (SCM). For this, 2 experiments were carried out: evaluation (1) biplate, (2) triplate mastitis-causing microorganisms. performance, by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry was considered standard methodology. In experiment 1, 476 milk samples collected CM 660 SCM evaluated inoculation in selective (CHROMagar) gram-positive bacteria another gram-negative bacteria. 2, 500 (Smartcolor2, Onfarm), Streptococcus Strep-like organisms, Staphylococcus, 1 samples, use biplates showed Se that ranged 0.56 (0.32–0.81; Staphylococcus aureus) 0.90 (0.80–0.99 uberis), Sp varied 0.94 (0.92–0.96; Strep. uberis) 1.00 (Prototheca spp. or yeast), ? 0.47 (0.26–0.67; Staph. 0.84 (0.78–0.9; Escherichia coli). The 0.50 (0.15–0.85; E. coli) (0.87–1.00; aureus), 0.95 (0.93–0.97; 0.99 (0.98–1.00; aureus Agalactiae dysgalactiae), 0.18 (0.00–0.40; 0.88 (0.80–0.95; aureus). 0.09 (0.00–0.26; Serratia spp.) (0.85–1.00; Klebsiella Enterobacter spp.), agalactiae dysgalactiae) (Serratia 0.07 (0.00–0.24; 0.85 (0.75–0.94; spp.). 0.25 (0.10–0.40; Lactococcus (Strep. 0.92 (0.90–0.94; 0.28 (0.00–0.72; 0.72 (0.60–0.82; Our results suggest accuracy biplate varies according pathogen, may be useful decision-making on treatment protocols main microorganisms, but their implementation control measures will depend each farm specific needs.

Characteristics of staphylococci isolated from clinical and subclinical mastitis cows in Shahrekord, Iran

Staphylococci isolated from 98 mastitic cow’s milk samples were analyzed for the production of alpha, beta and delta-hemolysin on sheep, bovine and horse red blood cells and in vitro susceptibility to several antimicrobial agents. Out of a total of 18 isolated strains, 100% demonstrated hemolytic activity either alone or in combined forms. Among 8 isolates of S. aureus 3 isolates produced α/β an...

Identification of Streptococcus canis isolated from milk of dairy cows with subclinical mastitis.

Streptococcus canis was isolated from 31 milk samples from 11 cows in a dairy herd (with 49 lactating cows) affected by subclinical mastitis in north Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Thirty-one isolates from the infected udder quarters were further characterized for their phenotypic and molecular properties. Most isolates (83.9%) produced alpha-galactosidase, and all were negative for beta-d-glucuron...

Rapid detection of the most important pathogenic microorganisms in water and Food by (Chromogenic media)

Abstract Background and Objectives: Chromogenic media are the newest methods applied for rapid detection of pathogenic microorganisms in drinking water and food from 1998-2008. These Specific media contained the compounds acting as a substrate for microbial enzymes and, according to the type of enzyme, produce specific color. The aim of this study was to introduce the chromogenic media as a pow...

Identification of nonlipophilic corynebacteria isolated from dairy cows with mastitis.

Nonlipophilic corynebacteria associated with clinical and subclinical mastitis in dairy cows were found to belong to four species: Corynebacterium amycolatum, Corynebacterium ulcerans, Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, and Corynebacterium minutissimum. These species may easily be confused. However, clear-cut differences between C. ulcerans and C. pseudotuberculosis were found in their acid pr...
