چکیده

Minimizing the thermal contact resistance (TCR) at boundary between two bodies in is critical diverse transport devices. Conventional methods have several limitations, such as high TCR, low interfacial adhesion, a requirement for external pressure, and optical transparency. Here, self-interfacing flexible device (STD) that can form robust van der Waals mechanical low-resistant to planar non-planar substrates without need pressure or surface modification presented. The based on distinctive integration of bioinspired adhesive architecture layer formed from percolating silver nanowire (AgNW) networks. proposed exhibits strong attachment (maximum 538.9 kPa) target while facilitating across interface with TCR (0.012 m2 K kW−1) use materials, chemistries.

Thermal transport across carbon nanotube-graphene covalent and van der Waals junctions

Carbon nanotubes and graphene are promising materials for thermal management applications due to their high thermal conductivities. However, their thermal properties are anisotropic, and the radial or cross-plane direction thermal conductivity is low. A 3D Carbon nanotube (CNT)-graphene structure has previously been proposed to address this limitation, and direct molecular dynamics simulations ...

Enhanced and switchable nanoscale thermal conduction due to van der Waals interfaces.

Understanding thermal transport in nanostructured materials is important for the development of energy conversion applications and the thermal management of microelectronic and optoelectronic devices. Most nanostructures interact through van der Waals interactions, and these interactions typically lead to a reduction in thermal transport. Here, we show that the thermal conductivity of a bundle ...

van der Waals interactions across stratified media.

Working at the Lifshitz level, we investigate the van der Waals interactions across a series of layers with a periodic motif. We derive the complete form of the van der Waals interaction as an explicit function of the number of periodic layers. We then compare our result with an approximation based on an anisotropic-continuum representation of the stratified medium. Satisfactory agreement betwe...

Quantized thermal transport across mechanical contacts of rough surfaces

The heater temperature was calibrated using the measurement of the electrical resistance of the heater using the circuitry shown in Fig. S2 a. During the experiments a constant bias, Vtot is applied. The electrical resistance is measured from the voltage drop across the heater. The resulting current–voltage diagram is shown in Fig. S2 b. The electrical resistance changes as a function of the po...

Flexible ferroelectric element based on van der Waals heteroepitaxy

We present a promising technology for nonvolatile flexible electronic devices: A direct fabrication of epitaxial lead zirconium titanate (PZT) on flexible mica substrate via van der Waals epitaxy. These single-crystalline flexible ferroelectric PZT films not only retain their performance, reliability, and thermal stability comparable to those on rigid counterparts in tests of nonvolatile memory...
