Engineered bone cement trigger bone defect regeneration

چکیده
Bone defects, which can be caused by factors such as trauma, tumor, or osteomyelitis, are clinically common. They lessen the weight a bone is able to bear and cause severe pain patient. Although transplantation gold standard for treating it not suitable all patients due its poor availability, risk of spreading disease, possibility requiring secondary surgery. cement filler defects fill any shape defect, quickly solidify when injected, providing mechanical strength sufficient supporting normal physiological activities bone. However, traditional lacks ability induce regeneration. Recently, various methods enhancing regeneration have been developed, adding morphogenetic proteins, mesenchymal stem cells, inorganic substances cement. These only ensure original biological properties cement, but also improve in terms The aim this review overview process regeneration, introduce improved formulations designed promote discuss clinical application possibilities future improvement.

Hierarchically engineered fibrous scaffolds for bone regeneration.
Surface properties of biomaterials play a major role in the governing of cell functionalities. It is well known that mechanical, chemical and nanotopographic cues, for example, influence cell proliferation and differentiation. Here, we present a novel coating protocol to produce hierarchically engineered fibrous scaffolds with tailorable surface characteristics, which mimic bone extracellular m...
متن کاملBone regeneration in mandible defect with autograft bone and cell suspension from bone marrow in rabbits
The objective of this study was to investigate the bone regeneration of a “gold standard” (autograft) from iliac crest associated with cellular therapy in rabbits. A bone defect was created with 10x5x5mm in 28 rabbit mandibles. The control group animals (n=14) were repaired with autograft of iliac crest and the experimental group animals (n=14) received iliac crest autograft in association with...
متن کاملEffects of setting bone cement on tissue-engineered bone graft: a potential barrier to clinical translation?
BACKGROUND Strategies to improve mechanical strength, neovascularization, and the regenerative capacity of allograft include both the addition of skeletal stem cells and the investigation of novel biomaterials to reduce and ultimately obviate the need for allograft altogether. Use of bone cement is a common method of stabilizing implants in conjunction with impacted allograft. Curing cement, ho...
متن کاملImproved tissue-engineered bone regeneration by endothelial cell mediated vascularization.
Natural bone growth greatly depends on the precedent vascular network that supplies oxygen and essential nutrients and removes metabolites. Likewise, it is crucial for tissue-engineered bone to establish a vascular network that temporally precedes new bone formation, and spatially originates from within the graft. In order to recapitulate physiological skeletal development, we have developed a ...
متن کاملBiomimetic Construction of Large Engineered Bone Using Hemoperfusion and Cyto-Capture in Traumatic Bone Defect
Due to lack of blood vessel systems, only a few tissues, such as skin, cartilage, and cornea, have been successfully constructed in vivo. Anticoagulative scaffolds have been used in drug-eluting stent systems both in animal studies and clinical therapies, as in the medicinal leech therapy used to salvage venous-congested microvascular free flaps improved perfusion inspired us to tackle this hur...
