Energy Efficiency Indicators for Water Pumping Systems in Multifamily Buildings

With the current concerns about sustainable development and energy consumption in buildings, water pumping systems have become essential for reducing consumption. This research aims to develop guidelines assessment of multifamily buildings. The methodological procedures are: (i) definition efficiencies electric motors; (ii) pump efficiency levels; (iii) determination consumption; (iv) construction scale projects assessments. results obtained were that centrifugal pumps with 40% higher consumption, regardless class motors, showing a 20% increase electrical Lower directly impact rating system. Thus “Very Low—VL” all motor classes (between IE1 IE5). At 60% efficiency, level system was “Average—A”, gradually increasing High—VH”, as decreased motors’ increased. It is concluded designers professionals area must consider pumps, they play fundamental role classification system’s efficiency. also recommended verify implement design so achieves lower contributing building’s sustainability.
