Diffusion of hydrogen fluoride in solid parahydrogen.
We studied diffusion of hydrogen fluoride (HF) in solid parahydrogen (pH2) around 4 K. Diffusion rates were determined from time dependence of FT-IR spectra of HF monomers. The absorption of HF monomers shows temporal decay due to dimerization reaction via diffusion. It was found that the rates are affected by the sample temperature, the initial HF concentration, and annealing of samples. The o...

The longstanding problem of Brownian transport in a heterogeneous quasi one-dimensional medium with space-dependent self-diffusion coefficient is addressed in the overdamped (zero mass) limit. A satisfactory mesoscopic description is obtained in the Langevin equation formalism by introducing an appropriate drift term, which depends on the system macroscopic observables, namely the diffuser conc...

Electron ’ drift velocity and diffusivity in germanium
Experimental results for electron drift velocity and diffusivity in germanium, obtained with the time-of-flight technique in hyperpure material. are presented for temperatures between 8 and 240 K and fields between 1 and 104,V/cm oriented along (111) and (100) directions. An anisotropy of the drift velocity and of the diffusion coefficient is found with the electric field applied along (111) an...

The problem of stability of the action variables (i.e. of the adiabatic invari-ants) in perturbations of completely integrable (real analytic) hamiltonian systems with more than two degrees of freedom is considered. Extending the analysis of A], we work out a general quantitative theory, from the point of view of dimensional analysis, for a priori unstable systems (i.e. systems for which the un...
