EFFICACY OF VERMICOMPOST ON GROWTH OF MULBERRY PLANT THROUGH AIR LAYERING

Mulberry (Moraceae) is the type of seed plant grown in deciduous trees and cultivated numerous temperate regions. Air layering technique propagation through cutting; wounding are often performed. This study was conducted with investigation air survival growth roots other parameters mulberry by using three different types composts. Vermicompost a nutritious natural fertilizer obtainable form macro micronutrients, beneficial to soil microbes, nitrogen-fixing regulators. Therefore, present experiment undertaken Department Zoology, Kongunadu Arts Science, (Coimbatore) during year 2019-2020. The healthy plants were chosen for practices vermicomposts i.e. Elephant Dung (100% ED), Cow CD), + (50% ED 50% CD) used as control triplicates. Best results achieved elephant dung vermicompost recorded significantly higher values rooted layer length, number primary secondary roots, root shoot ratio, fruits leaves. Hence length Shoot weight greater cow dung, but which treated all vermicompost, when compared that control.
