Effect of concentration on virus removal for ultrafiltration membrane in drinking water production

چکیده
Removal of pathogenic microorganisms as viruses during drinking water production was evaluated by ultrafiltration. Two enteric (ADV 41 and CV-B5) were compared to the MS2 bacteriophage, largely used in literature membrane producers virus surrogate. The effect feed concentration on ultrafiltration efficiency has been assessed. For three viruses, low retentions about 1 log observed at lowest concentrations. At higher concentrations, an increase removal up 3.0 for CV-B5 phage 3.5 ADV observed. These results highlight potential overestimation UF laboratory experiments realized high concentrations found environmental resources production. Virus removals with Evian real groundwater achieved similar or slightly viruses. Finally, impact ageing after chlorine exposure checked. It that degradations, visible a permeability dose did not affect

Effect of Household Water Treatment on the Concentration of Heavy Metals of Drinking Water in Ahvaz City
Background: Some metals play an important role in biological reactions and metabolism of human body. Low and high concentrations of these elements can cause diseases and poisoning. This study was carried out in order to investigate the concentration of metals in inlet and outlet water of households in Ahvaz city, Iran in 2018. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive stud...
متن کاملElectrospun Quaternized Chitosan Fibers for Virus Removal from Drinking Water
Membrane filtration has become an accepted technology for the removal of pathogens from drinking water. Viruses, known to contaminate water supplies, are too small to be removed by a size-exclusion mechanism without a large energy penalty. Thus, functionalized electrospun membranes that can adsorb viruses have drawn our interest. We chose a quaternized chitosan derivative (HTCC) which carries a...
متن کاملConcentration of Nitrate in Bottled Drinking Water in Qom, Iran
Background & Aims of the Study: The global consumption of bottled water is growing with substantial growth in sales volumes on every continent. The highest growth rates are occurring in Asia and South America. Biological and chemical monitoring of these waters is necessary. The aim of current study was determination of nitrate concentration in bottled drinking water in Qom, Iran in 2012...
متن کاملMeasurement of Fluoride Concentration in Semnan Drinking Water Distribution
Background: The existence of fluoride ion in potable water has distinctive effects on human health. Fluoride is attracted by positively charged calcium in teeth and bones due to its strong electro-negativity which results in dental, skeletal, and non-skeletal forms of xuorosis and associated health complaints in children as well as adults. Methods: Water samples from groundwater used for dri...
متن کاملCorrelated Effect of Air Gap and PVP Concentration on the Structure and Performance of PVDF Ultrafiltration Hollow Fiber Membrane
Polyvinylidene fluoride/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVDF/PVP) hollow fiber membranes were fabricated by dry-jet wet-spinning process. The correlated effects of the air gap length and PVP concentration ((1) the air gap length effect at the low and high PVP concentration in the dope solutions, as well as (2) the effect of the PVP concentration at the same air gap length) on the cross-section structure ...
