Determination of phenolic acids and flavonoids in leaves, calyces, and fruits of Physalis angulata L. in Viet Nam

In Vietnam, Physalis angulata L. is a wild species growing throughout the country that often used in traditional medicine. The aim of study was to quantify seven major compounds, including phenolic acids (chlorogenic acid, caffeic p-coumaric acid) and flavonoids (rutin, quercitrin, quercetin, kaempferol) three aerial parts P. . Chromatographic separation carried out on Kromasil C 18 column (150 mm × 4.6 i.d., 5 µm) with gradient elution 0.1% formic acid acetonitrile, 0.2% ammonium acetate/0.1% water methanol at flow rate 1.0 mL/min; detection 250 300 nm. limits quantification were ranges 0.1–0.3 0.3–1.0 µg/mL, respectively. validated method successfully applied analyze active compounds may be useful tool for quality control this plant.
