Deterioration characterization during thermal shock testing

چکیده
Thermal shock stability plays a great role in the selection of optimal refractory material. Different methods characterization were developed for this purpose, including implementation nondestructive testing. Image analysis is very well method different materials structures, as changes and occurred defects structure caused by influences. In paper, possible application image will be presented related to monitoring thermal behavior selected materials. parameters such are R parameter, level destruction, determination morphological descriptors (area, perimeter, diameter, roundness) using analysis, presented.

THERMAL SHOCK OF REFRACTORIES
Being brittle and having low thermal conductivity, refractories suffer damage and sometimes fail in service as a result of thermal shock. While the approach of those making fine-grained technical ceramics is to make their products sufficiently strong to withstand thermal stresses the refractory technologist is more cunning. He uses, often little known, devices to provide resistance to thermal s...
متن کاملSynthesis and Characterization of Mechanical Behavior and Thermal Shock Resistance of Macro-Porous SiC Solar Absorber
The concentrated solar power (CSP) is one of the renewable energy sources in which solar irradiation heat energy will be used in a steam turbine to generate electrical grid. Solar radiation is absorbed by a solar receiver reactor on the surface of a porous solar absorber. In this survey, synthesis and mechanical/thermal characterization of micro-porous silicon carbide (SiC) absorber to be used ...
متن کاملMicro-scale Laser Shock Processing – Modeling, Testing, and Microstructure Characterization
This paper reports modeling improvements for micro-scale laser shock processing (LSP), fatigue testing of shock processed copper samples, and microstructure characterization of shock processed materials (Cu and Ni). Plasma expansion is modeled as laser supported combustion wave, in which radial and axial expansions are considered. Stress/strain analysis is extended to three-dimensional and take...
متن کاملThermal diffusion shock waves.
The Ludwig-Soret effect or thermal diffusion, which refers to the separation of liquid mixtures in a temperature gradient, is governed by a nonlinear, partial differential equation in space and time. It is shown here that the solution to the nonlinear differential equation for a binary mixture predicts the existence of shock waves completely analogous to fluid shocks and obeys an expression for...
متن کاملThermal preconditioning and heat-shock protein 72 preserve synaptic transmission during thermal stress.
As with other tissues, exposing the mammalian CNS to nonlethal heat stress (i.e., thermal preconditioning) increases levels of heat-shock proteins (Hsps) such as Hsp70 and enhances the viability of neurons under subsequent stress. Using a medullary slice preparation from a neonatal mouse, including the site of the neural network that generates respiratory rhythm (the pre-Bötzinger complex), we ...
