Design of Chitosan-Polyester Composites to Reduce Particulate Contamination of Washing Wastewater

In this research, the modification of different polyester structures (fabrics and knits) by biopolymer chitosan was studied to evaluate effects structure treatments on particulate pollution wastewater. The pristine chitosan-polyester fabric knit composites were washed cyclically with standard ECE A detergent at 60 °C. laser diffraction technique used characterize particle size washing wastewaters from 1–5, 6–10 1–10 wash cycles. addition, total solids (TS), suspended (TSS), dissolved (TDS), turbidity chemical oxygen demand (COD) also determined, according procedures. obtained results show influence fabrics distribution (PSD) in Differences values characteristic parameters, especially span value shape factor (k) individual curves, are visible, indicating release particles during process. experimental that is suitable for characterizing dimensions wastewater composites. Modification has been shown provide potential protection against microplastic into environment.
