Design education: learning design methodology to enrich project experience

Project-based design method is widely used in engineering education. However, it time-consuming to develop thinking skills through projects. This paper proposes that learning methodology and projects will significantly improve students’ experience outcomes. The TASKS framework analyze the pros cons of three different methods: methodology-based learning, project-based methodology-driven project practice. According framework, perceived Task workload mental capacity (including Affect, Skills, Knowledge) affect Stress. Mental stress has an inverse U-shaped curve relationship with effort. Since capability can be assumed constant for a short period, human performance task related effort put into task. Methodology-based requires students comfortable using abstract methodology, which often not case. On other hand, while engage effectively, high number are needed equip necessary skills. practice would integrate advantages both previous methods. conducted detailed analysis methods framework.
