Contribution of passive moments to inter-segmental moments during gait: A systematic review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Inter-segmental moments computed by inverse dynamic during gait come from active moments, due to muscle contraction, but also passive resulting the resistance of periarticular structures their deformation. The evaluation proportion inter-segmental that can be attributed has led divergent results. Thus, purpose this study was systematically search and synthesize evidence contribution healthy pathological gait. A broad systematic performed including four databases. Thirteen studies met all inclusion criteria. Results showed participate in a non-negligible way. For ankle, moment is 5-20% around push-off. knee, 40–98% late swing 10–80% single support phase. hip, it 20–50% at population, been shown may sometimes more important, either smaller or larger moment. These results suggest mechanisms contribute substantially normal human gait, facilitating propulsion braking joint. Passive structures, acting as elastic springs, thus help reduce energy cost studying better understand aetiology pathology.

Methodological factors affecting joint moments estimation in clinical gait analysis: a systematic review

Quantitative gait analysis can provide a description of joint kinematics and dynamics, and it is recognized as a clinically useful tool for functional assessment, diagnosis and intervention planning. Clinically interpretable parameters are estimated from quantitative measures (i.e. ground reaction forces, skin marker trajectories, etc.) through biomechanical modelling. In particular, the estima...

Statistical Gait Description via Temporal Moments

Statistical recognition techniques have already been shown to achieve good performance in automatic gait recognition. However, the metrics were only statistical in nature and did not describe the intimate nature of gait. Accordingly, new velocity moments have been developed to describe an object and its motion throughout an image sequence. These moments are an extended form of centralised momen...

A Contribution to Multivariate L-Moments: L-Comoment Matrices

Multivariate statistical analysis relies heavily on moment assumptions of second order and higher. With increasing interest in modeling with heavy tailed distributions, however, it is desirable to describe dispersion, skewness, and kurtosis of multivariate distributions under merely first order moment assumptions. Here we present a new method contributing toward this goal in both parametric and...

Pinned orbital moments – A new contribution to magnetic anisotropy

Reduced dimensionality and symmetry breaking at interfaces lead to unusual local magnetic configurations, such as glassy behavior, frustration or increased anisotropy. The interface between a ferromagnet and an antiferromagnet is such an example for enhanced symmetry breaking. Here we present detailed X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and X-ray resonant magnetic reflectometry investigations on ...

Normalization of joint moments during gait: a comparison of two techniques.

Joint moments are commonly used to characterize gait. Factors like height and weight influence these moments. This study determined which of two commonly used normalization methods, body mass or body weight times height, most reduced the effects of height and weight on peak hip, knee, and ankle external moments during walking. The effectiveness of each normalization method in reducing gender di...
