Comparative study of optimization methods for optimal coordination of directional overcurrent relays with distributed generators

<span lang="EN-US">Due to the growing penetration of distributed generators (DGs), that are based on renewable energy, into distribution network, it is necessary address coordination directional overcurrent relays (DOCR) in presence these generators. This problem has been solved by many metaheuristic optimization techniques obtain optimal relay parameters and have an protection considering constraints. In this article, a comparative study proposed literature addresses using digital DOCRs with standard properties according IEC60-255. For purpose, three most efficient robust techniques, which particle swarm (PSO), genetic algorithm (GA) differential evolution (DE), considered. Simulations were performed MATLAB R2021a applying methods interconnected 9-bus 15-bus power systems. The obtained simulation results show that, case generation, best method solve DE. </span>
