The authors made a brief review of recent publications by foreign and domestic researchers on the structure, phase composition, properties films coatings five-component high-entropy alloys (HEA) various substrates modification HEA surface types processing. main methods applying are considered: magnetron sputtering, thermal laser electrodeposition. Particular attention is paid to deposition stainless steels titanium alloys. positive change in tribological, strength properties, corrosion resistance film wide temperature range analyzed possible causes observed effects discussed. role solid solution strengthening, formation fine-grained oxide layers enriched with one components were taken into account. identified new for from subsequent Using Nb Ti doping as an example, their increasing microhardness, wear resistance, reducing friction coefficient revealed.
