Chemical bath synthesis of Ag<sub>2</sub>S, CuS, and CdS nanoparticle-polymer nanocomposites: structural, linear, and nonlinear optical characteristics

In this study, CdS, CuS, and Ag 2 S nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by a chemical bath procedure in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as polymer stabilizer. Morphological studies followed X-ray diffraction (XRD) atomic force microscopy (AFM) revealed monolithic small size NPs. The average crystalline S, CuS nanocomposites was 18.1, 26.7, 21.7 nm, respectively. UV-Vis absorption photoluminescence (PL) spectra samples showed near-infrared region (NIR) emission peak for CuS. bandgap measured using data 3.48, 2.75, 2.30 eV NPs, Nonlinear optical properties, including nonlinear refractive index Z-scan technique under 632.8 nm wavelength He-Ne CW laser. PVA/Ag nanocomposite displayed reverse saturable absorbance (RSA) self-focusing, while PVA/CdS PVA/CuS self-defocusing behavior synthesis.
