Blackberry cultivars, nitrogen and potassium fertilization under drastic summer pruning in a subtropical area

چکیده

The expansion of blackberry cropping in subtropical regions is recent, requiring adaptability studies and the development new cultivars, as well suitable plant management. Aiming to study agronomic performance (Rubus spp.) under drastic summer pruning a region, response four cultivars (‘BRS Tupy’, ‘Guarani’, ‘Brazos’ ‘Choctaw’) N K fertilization was evaluated during two growing seasons Jundiaí (Brazil). experiment used split-plots randomized complete block design with replicates. plots consisted combinations three rates (75, 150 300 kg·ha–1·year–1) (50, 100 200 kg·ha–1·year–1 K2O) factorial arrangement an additional control treatment without fertilizer application. In subplots, were studied. Considering fruit yield, accumulation phytomass mineral elements, nutrient efficiency use, that showed greater adaptation cultivation area management are ‘Brazos’, ‘BRS Tupy’ ‘Choctaw’, order. An annual application 120 67 kg·ha–1 K2O, respectively, expected be sufficient achieve maximum economic yield.

Sugarcane responses to irrigation and nitrogen in subtropical Iran

Limited information is available on water and nitrogen (N) management of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) in Khuzestan, southwestern Iran, where this crop is currently and extensively grown under heavy irrigation and N fertilization. Therefore, a field experiment was conducted from September 2000 to March 2002 at the Research Department of Karoon Agro-industry in Khuzestan to determine the ...

Nutrient Uptake of Maize Affected by Nitrogen and Potassium Fertility in a Humid Subtropical Environment

Nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) fertility management of maize (Zea mays L.) in the humid subtropical Mississippi Delta may differ from a temperate climate because of its use in rotation with cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.), soil temperatures rarely falling to 08C, and heavy winter rains that facilitate nutrient losses. An experiment to determine the [N] (concentration 1⁄4 [ ]), phosphorus [P], [K...

Evaluation of Post-Harvest Disease Resistance in Blackberry Cultivars

Seventeen blackberry cultivars were evaluated for postharvest fruit-rot resistance in June and July, 2003. Fully mature, undamaged berries were harvested on two dates for each genotype at the University of Arkansas Fruit Substation, Clarksville. After transporting in chilled coolers to the Plant Pathology Department in Fayetteville, two replications of 10 berries of each genotype were placed in...

Spatial Distribution of Soil Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium Stocks in Moso Bamboo Forests in Subtropical China

Moso bamboo is famous for fast growth and biomass accumulation, as well as high annual output for timber and bamboo shoots. These high outputs require high nutrient inputs to maintain and improve stand productivity. Soil nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) are important macronutrients for plant growth and productivity. Due to high variability of soils, analysing spatial patterns of s...
