چکیده
Phyllanthus niruri L. is a small annual plant grows up to 30-40 cm tall. It an herbaceous that widely distributed in the tropical and sub-tropical regions. The aerial parts of P. growing Bangladesh were investigated for moisture content ash content, total phenolic flavonoid antioxidant capacity (TAC), cytotoxicity, relative fatty acid compositions antibacterial activity. dried leaves 5 7%, respectively. extracts contained good amount revealed significant capacity. highest TAC was shown by dichloromethane fraction (131.3±9.20) it followed 80% ethanol extract (126.1±6.25) then ethyl acetate (122.5±10.65). present fraction, whereas lowest hexane fraction. Cytotoxicity found extract, aqueous fractions. Fatty acids like lauric (0.5%), tetradecanoic (1%) palmitoleic (37%),octadecanoic (57%) cis-9-oleic (5%) identified quantified GC-FID octadecanoic predominant among all acids. activity tested against two Gram negative (Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi) positive (Bacillus subtilis Staphylococcus aureus) bacteria following agar diffusion method. results weak

Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the potential Phyllanthus niruri extracts in promotion of hair growth. Materials and Methods: Here, we studied the hair growth promoting activity of petroleum ether extract of P. niruri following its topical administration. Alopecia was induced in albino rats by subcutaneous administration of testosterone for 21 days. Evaluation of hair loss in...
متن کاملEvaluation of chemical composition and biological activity of the aerial parts of Artemisia fragrans
Background and objectives: The genus Artemisia, an important member of the Asteraceae family, is mostly distributed in Europe, North America, Asia and South Africa, and represented in Iranian flora by 34 species. In the Iranian traditional medicine these plants were used as anthelmintic and anti-inflammatory. The presence of sesquiterpene lactones and germacranolides w...
متن کاملAntibacterial activity of some Epilobium L. species aerial parts extract
The emergence of new pathogens and the increase in the number of multidrug-resistant strains in well-established pathogens during the past decade represent a growing public health concern globally. Therefore, it is important to introduce and replace new sources of drug such as medicinal plants with antimicrobial properties. The aim of the present sturdy was to evaluate the antibacterial effects...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Potency of Phyllanthus Niruri L. on Some Clinical Isolates
The present work was designed to evaluate the antimicrobial activities of the ethanol extract of different parts of Phyllanthus niruri (EPN) (Family: Euphorbiaceae). The antimicrobial activity of EPN was determined by the well diffusion method with various gram-positive, gram-negative microorganisms and pathogenic fungus. We have collected medicinally important medicinal plant Phyllanthus nirur...
متن کاملAcute toxicity studies of aqueous leaf extract of Phyllanthus niruri
Phyllanthus niruri is a plant with medicinal properties. It is often used to treat mild malaria and the elimination of renal stones. However, studies on its toxicity are scarce. The study was carried out to determine if the aqueous leaf extract of P. niruri administered to female Sprague-Dawley rats would illicit evidence of toxicity. Fifteen female rats weighing 150-200 g were divided into 3 g...
