Bioenergy potential of agricultural phytomass production in Slovakia

Biomass is a highly versatile renewable energy source used on global scale. The paper discusses the current state of biomass use in EU and Slovakia. Residual was found as key feedstock for European bioeconomy. Slovakia one most forested rural countries EU. Therefore, has highest technical potential from all renewables main objective to evaluate phytomass production selected crops their individual self-governing regions It focused usable post-harvest residues theoretically purposes following studied crops: wheat, rye, oats, barley, maize, potatoes, oilseed rape sugar beet. results show estimated 2019. total 4,854,017 t 68 PJ. This amount would cover 10% consumption top three productive were Maize had 28.1 PJ, followed by wheat at 19 PJ beet 14.2 yields residues, well potential, Nitra region.
