The world will face a significant protein demand in the next few decades, and due to environmental concerns linked animal protein, new sustainable sources must be found. In this regard, microalgae stand as an outstanding high-quality source. However, different steps are needed separate proteins from biomass other biocompounds. recovery disrupted is usually bottleneck of process, it typically employs organic solvents or harsh conditions, which both detrimental stability planet health. Different techniques methods applied for various matrices, such precipitation, filtration, chromatography, electrophoresis, solvent extraction. Those reviewed work, discussing their advantages, drawbacks, applicability biorefinery process.
